2018/19 Rep Tryouts

The 2018/19 Rep Try Out Schedule and Information has been released. For more information please see below. Please note this posting will be updated if/when required, and stands as the official schedule. We encourage you to come back regularly to this page to view any updated information.
Mandatory Rep Parent Meeting
The AMHA will again this year be holding Mandatory Rep Parent Meetings during tryouts. A minimum of one parent must attend the Rep parent meeting in order for their child to be eligible to begin Phase 2 of the Rep Tryout process. Rep Parent Meetings will be as follows:
- Goalies – Atom/Pee Wee/Bantam/Midget – August 30, 2018 – 700 pm – Summit Centre
- Skaters – Parents meetings will occur 30 minutes prior to the start of your child’s assigned August 31st combine start time (i.e. Start time is 800 am, Parent Meeting start is 730am).
Rep Tryout Guidelines
Each year the AMHA provides a Rep Tryout Guidelines Procedural Document which governs the Rep tryout process. It is encouraged this document is reviewed by all parents prior to Tryouts starting. AMHA.2018.Rep.Tryout.Procedure.Guidelines
Codes of Conduct
Please ensure Parents/Guardians and Players bring their Signed Codes of Conduct to registration check in. Players will not be allowed on the ice without both sets of Codes of Conduct submitted. You can download your Code of Conducts from our website.
Volunteer Sign up
As with previous years, the AMHA requires a number of volunteers to assist with Rep Tryouts. Please visit the Rep Tryout volunteer sign up sheet to sign up for your desired slot and/or position. If prior to the Rep Tryouts the sign up sheet is not fully/complete that particular division will not commence with tryouts.

Player Feedback meetings
In the event you wish to have a player feedback meeting after final team selection (Round Robin) you will have five days to request your meeting after final teams are posted. The player feedback meetings are designed to provide players with constructive feedback from the independent evaluators and is not a placement or appeal meeting. Please send your request for a player feedback meeting to your division director. Meetings will take place near the end of September.

Goaltender List & WHL Combine Groups
The Goaltender and WHL Combine Groups are now available. Please check back to this link as any changes would be reflected here on this document. Please note that any member who is currently on a hold, or have not been cleared by the registrar’ office. If your child’s name is not on the list, or you see an issue with the position listed, please contact our Registrar, Rhonda Bencze at 604.852.8295.
Goalie Evaluation Process & Shooter Info
AMHA has listened to membership feedback the past two seasons regarding the Rep Tryout evaluation process specific to goalies and have made some significant changes to Phase 1 of the evaluation process. AMHA feels that the goalies will be given a more detailed and fair evaluation with the changes that have been implemented. Be sure to read the Rep Tryout Guidelines to learn about all the changes.
During goalie evaluations an independent on-ice Instructor will lead goalies through a number of skill based drills during a 1 hour skills session. Age / Skill appropriate shooters will take part in the skills evaluation as shooters for the various stations. Following the individual skills session the goalies will then take part in Simulated Game Situations to allow evaluations to occur in more of a game like situation. The same shooters will take part in these simulations. All shooters must be in full equipment for both portions of the goalie sessions. The total length of each specific division is 1hr 45min. The shooters will have ample rest time and breaks during the the sessions.
